I don’t think there’s been any stephxoxosmooch look that’s excited me more than this one. I mean, beyond serving boss lady realness that’s a serious cross between the 50s and the 90s, I look like how my Mother looked (in my eyes, at least) when she was raising me and my sisters. Whew!
I’m all big hair, big grin, big bold steps. I literally dig it and it’s more so about how this look made me feel as a woman and less about the aesthetic itself. (Though I could gush over this rich pink tone, vintage style, figure flattering tailoring, and light but tight-knit fabric).
Not that I’ve shared, but I recently started a new job (same company) and I will be honest with you, it has been one of the biggest challenges of my career, in a short five weeks… I’m very much up for it; and I’m already awed by how it’s growing me as a professional, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not intimidated daily by what lies ahead.
However, something about when I put on this dress – I felt so empowered to kick ass in every sense of my life. For those who know me very closely, they know that I’m kicking grief and trauma’s ass right along with regret’s funky ass. Those are daily fights, but when you look good—you feel good—and you do even better.
