So Fall is coming and I’m not sure how I feel about it. Don’t get me wrong, I love the changing color of the leaves and all the holidays that new seasons in the second half of the year bring, BUT the absence of warm weather? Not so much. Right now it’s tough in the South transitioning into the Fall weather simply because the temps fluctuate, unpredictably so. This little outfit is me masterminding the transition.
I remember being obsessed with denim tops back in middle school or so. This was the “I Wanna Be Down” cross “Brandy Norwood” era and I know my sisters and I begged my mom for denim vests and jackets to layer over some frilly looking Thea-character-style dress. Holla if ya hear me on the Thea Vidale sitcom tip!! Anyhow, fast forward nearly two decades and I’m back loving denim jackets over dresses–especially when it’s a casual day in the office.
What made this perfect for my transitioning was adding fun pieces that are perfect for ushering you into a new season. And by fun pieces, I meant my boots. I am nearly 100% sure I gushed over these in a previous post or two. Though my dress was light and airy, the heavier suede boots gave me Autumn flavor!
Here’s a closer look at my faves, complemented by a good ol DKNY denim jacket and pebbled leather bookbag purse.
I loved adding turquoise jewelry and will prob rock this entire look again when Winter transitions into Spring!
