Hey pretty ladies and cool cats! Dig my far out lingo? It’s all for a reason–trust me. So, I recently spent some time with my Mom and she showed me her Spelman College Class of 1973 yearbook. You guys wouldn’t believe the incredible fashions that abounded! Or maybe you would. But anyhow, even in black and white, I was hooked to her and her classmates’ incredible sense of style.
This new babydoll dress, and of course the way I styled it, put me right into a 70s vibe like no other item I’ve ever worn. Even with the retro vibe, it made me feel forward, smart and powerful–just like the fashionistas in my Mom’s yearbook. (Shout out to Harvey tho, Hampton U almumnae stand up! *wink*)
I will let you know that there are going to be a ton of photos on this post. I love this dress and most importantly, I love the way it makes me feel. Dig the fluted arms? So fun!
It has a low cut (lower than what I usually go for) and a high hem (higher than what I typically wear), but it makes me feel like a lady and is still tasteful, in my opinion. As you can note, it has a keyhole opening under the bust and right above the waist.
Yep, love it! I paired it with a quilted crossbody bag (because those are my fave), peach statement earrings, and yellow fringe sandals.
I love closet purging, but I won’t be saying goodbye to this number anytime soon!
